
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27, 1976. He grew up in the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez was a star in both games at the University of California. He was instrumental in leading the football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receptions with nine and set it again. Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament in just a few months following. After graduation from high school in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their thirteenth overall pick. Gonzalez was a part of the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't catch fewer than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
